West Hawaii seems to be hardest hit area from the Massive Earthquake (Japan 8.9) generated Tsunami
Its seems that of all the areas in Hawaii, that were hit by the Tsunami, West Hawaii - including Kailua Kona, Keauhou, Kealakekua, and Hualalai Resort area, seem to have taken the brunt of it all.
First of all our prayers go out to Japan - they by far took the hardest hit - in fact our damages aren’t even worth mentioning in the scope of what Japan has seen, a moment of silence for them please.
But we have a lot friends, family, and tourist on the mainland that want to know how there favorite little piece of Hawaii is.
I took a few of these photos, but most were shared on Facebook - it was amazing how Facebook saved the day on communication during the crisis and shortly after. AT&T, Verizon and most major carriers went completely dead - nothing, not even a - no service - would show up on our phones - so many of communicated through Facebook.
Thank you to all that posted and shared.
This is how Alii Drive - Sea Wall - looks on a normal day
Here it is about 6 hours after the Tsunami hit - waves were up, and abnormal for about 24 hours, you can only imagine what they were like at 3:45am
And here is the aftermath -
Here is more of the Village area
